Dear Sir,

WEST POINT BICENTENNIAL CELEBRATIONS

Thank you for your letter of 24 July 2001 wherein you invited us to participate in the Bicentennial Celebrations of West Point.

The invitation, by its own accord is a solid manifestation of the excellent relations that our countries, and indeed, our defence establishments greatly enjoy. For us in the Botswana Defence Force, it is a credit and honour to associate with such a highly placed and internationally reputable military institution.

So far, Botswana Defence Force boast with two graduates of this esteemed institution. We are truly humbled by the qualitative products, both in the military and academic arena that have graduated from West Point since its establishment in 1802. Their footprints remain indelible on the avenues they walk.

To this end, I have no doubt that you have every reason to celebrate this unprecedented Bicentennial in style.

Congratulations and all the best.

Yours sincerely Botswana signature
