Dear General Lennox,
On the occasion of West Point's Bicentennial, it is with great pleasure for me as a
Privy Councilor of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej, to congratulate you as one of
the most prestigious members of the long gray line to superintend one of the world's
most renown military academies for producing leaders of integrity.
As an alumnus with the class of 1958, a professional soldier, and the former
President of the West Point Society of Thailand, I have always lived and worked by the
West Point Honor Code, the motto " Duty, Honor, Country, " and the Cadet Prayer
"Make us choose the harder right instead of the easier wrong, and never to be content
with a half truth when the whole can be won. " I can assure you that the quality and
characters instilled upon us by those words are valuable and timeless anywhere and at
any level of service. The Thai West Point graduates spanning almost a century have
come back and served the Kingdom well and have found West Point's education, and
experience, rewarding for their lives and careers in this farthest away land from their
alma mater. On behalf of them I would like to convey my gratitude to the United States
in giving us the opportunities to attend West Point.
I wish you continued success as Superintendent at West Point and may the United
States Military Academy prosper and continue its role with strength for centuries to come.
Sincerely yours,
Pichitr Kullavanijaya
