Coach Barone
Ray “Coach” Barone retired honorably as a Lieutenant Colonel from the US Army after almost 21 years of service as a combat arms Officer. In August 1999, he was employed as the Director of Boxing at the United States Military Academy, West Point.

Since his arrival, Coach Barone has worked to make the Fourth Class Boxing Program a valuable, safe experience for cadets. In November 2004, he completed a doctorate in education from Columbia Teacher’s College and soon thereafter became a certified Level IV USA Boxing Coach.

Under his tutelage as head coach, the West Point boxing team has produced numerous All-Americans, individual collegiate boxing champions, and has won the team National Collegiate Boxing Championships in 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, and 2013.

Coach Barone served as an assistant coach when Team USA boxed Ireland in August 2002 and England in November 2004. Coach has completed the Master Teacher’s program at West Point, won the Brigadier General Anderson Award for Excellence in Teaching, was selected as the 2009 West Point Club Coach recipient of the Mike Krzyzewski ‘Teaching Character Through Sport Award’, and has received Coaching Certification from the Champions of Character Program.

In August 2010, he was selected to coach the USA Youth Boxing team in the inaugural Youth Olympics held in Singapore. In 2011, Coach Barone was chosen as the first collegiate Boxing Coach to receive the American Association for the Improvement of Boxing (AAIB) Coach’s award for excellence.

Additionally, he has worked with the Special Olympics, mentored cadets in the Honor Mentorship Program, Served on the USMA Teaching Committee, taught Professional Military Ethics (PME) to cadets, and has served as a member of the Board of Education for the Tuxedo School District for the past ten years.
SFC Devot
SFC Devot began his coaching career at West Point on in 2012.

His previous duty positions include gunner, Ammunition Team Chief, Section Chief, Drill Sergeant, Gunnery Sergeant and Platoon Sergeant. He has served in A 1-9 FA out of Fort Stewart, GA and D 1-19th FA out of Fort Sill, OK. He has deployed to Iraq during OIF I, OIF 3 and OIF 09-10

SFC Devot is originally from Miami, FL. He has completed PLDC, BNCOC, ANCOC, Drill Sergeant School, Combat Life Saver Course, Combative Level I, Instructor Training Course, Unit Victim Advocate Course, Unit Prevention Leader Course, Field Sanitation Course and Equal Opportunity Leaders Course. He is currently a Military Science Instructor at the Academy and the Field Artillery Branch NCOIC. He is married with three Children
