Thank you for your interest in joining the Department of Behavioral Sciences and Leadership at West Point! Our department is an internationally respected inter-disciplinary teaching department, home to world-class military and civilian scholars. We are currently seeking officers from all commissioning sources who have a passion for teaching and mentoring in order to fulfill our vision of inspiring, educating, and developing the future of our Army. Opportunities exist for fully funded study at the Masters and Ph.D. levels through premiere graduate schools. We primarily offering teaching positions; however, we also work in conjunction with the USMA Brigade Tactical Department to recruit future tactical officers.

Becoming Tactical Officer (Eisenhower Leadership Development Program)

The Department seeks outstanding captains to attend full-time, fully-funded, graduate school in anticipation of joining our faculty. Most officers should be between their 6th and 9th year of service at the start of graduate schooling and be prepared to earn a two-year master's degree from a world-class institution in Psychology, Sociology, Engineering Psychology, Business, or a closely related discipline. Minimum qualifications include successful and outstanding service through key developmental assignments as a captain, an undergraduate GPA of 2.5 or above, and qualifying GRE scores within five years of application dates (153V, 144Q, and 4.0W). We manage applicants through the Academy's Web Enabled Selection and Tracking System (WEST) and generally make our selections for graduate schooling in DEC/JAN each year, about 19 months in advance of beginning graduate school.
