MAJ Neil Hollenbeck graduated USMA in 2003 and then served as an infantry platoon leader and company commander in the 82nd Airborne and 3rd Infantry Divisions, leading Soldiers in Iraq during four separate deployments between 2004 and 2010. From 2010-2012 Neil studied at Duke University (MBA program), where he also served as a leadership fellow with the Fuqua/Coach K. Center on Leadership and Ethics and taught an undergraduate military science course as a visiting assistant professor in the Department of Military Science. Today, Neil is an academic instructor in the Department of Behavioral Science and Leadership and serves as co-director of the West Point Negotiation Project.
Neil's awards and decorations include two Bronze Star Medals, two Purple Hearts, one Meritorious Service Medal, five Army Commendation Medals, the Combat Infantryman Badge, Expert Infantryman Badge, Ranger Tab, Parachutist Badge, Air Assault Badge, three Valorous Unit Awards, and the General Douglas MacArthur Leadership Award.
