Major Russell Lemler was commissioned in 2001 into the Field Artillery from the US Military Academy. He currently teaches PL300: Military Leadership, and MG421: Strategic Management. He has served in a variety of command and staff assignments, including fire direction officer, fire support officer, battery executive officer, battalion civil-military officer, and battalion assistant operations officer while assigned to 3rd Battalion, 7th Field Artillery Regiment, 25th Infantry Division, Schofield Barracks, Hawaii. While assigned to 1st Battalion, 19th Field Artillery Regiment (BCT), 434th Field Artillery Brigade, Fort Sill, Oklahoma he commanded Alpha Battery and served as the battalion operations officer. His military education includes the Field Artillery Officer Basic and Career Courses, Airborne school, and Air Assault school. His awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, and the Army Achievement Medal. He is married and has two children.
