Originally from Iowa, Troy enlisted into the Army in 1990 and quickly deployed to Operation Desert Storm after finishing Basic, Advanced, and Airborne training. He met Darcy at the USMA Prep School, and they both graduated from USMA in 1996. An enlisted Artilleryman, he selected Artillery as his branch and was assigned to both Fort Carson and Fort Hood in the mechanized artillery of the 4th Infantry Division. He commanded B/4-42FA in combat and then began his academic studies at the Fletcher School, teaching in the Department of Social Sciences and then deploying to Ramadi, Iraq, as a transition team deputy chief in the 504th Parachute Infantry Regiment. Troy returned to USMA as an Assistant Dean, the Chief of Protocol, the Executive Officer to the Superintendent, and now the Executive Officer to the Dean. Troy and Darcy have three kids all born in New York.
