AWANA Guidelines
In order
to have a safe, enjoyable, and orderly club environment, our club has
established the following guidelines. All young people are expected to
follow them. Please instruct and encourage your child in any areas that
may be difficult for him or her.
- Apply the golden rule - treat all Clubbers as you wish to be treated
- Participate in all activities, whether playing games, studying handbooks,
singing, listening, or other activities.
- Respect the Authority of the Leaders. Come to attention whenever
a leaders begins to count to five.
- Wear AWANA uniform each week. Wearing of the uniform is mandatory
in order to receive awards.
- Wear tennis shoes (no black soles) each week. This is required for
use of the Youth Activities Center (YAC) Gym.
- Bring AWANA Handbook and Bible each week. Cubbies need only bring
their Handbook.
- Respect the property of the Chapel and the YAC facility
- Do not depart the facility until a parent or guardian is present
inside the YAC or Nursery. Cubbies are only dismissed to an adult guardian.
Behavior Policy
We expect Clubbers to respect the authority of the Leaders and do what
the Leaders request. Leaders utilize the AWANA Five Count to bring Clubbers
to attention. When a leader begins to count to five, clubbers will come
to attention and be quiet.
The West Point AWANA
Club utilizes the AWANA Three Count Policy with a Clubber that is out
of control, does not respect the Leaders, can not keep his/her hands to
themselves, intimidates or bullies. The First Count asks the Clubber to
calm down and get control of him/herself. Should a Second Count be needed
in the same evening, the Clubber will be taken to the Director. A Third
Count would result in the Club Director or Commander calling the parent
to come pick up the Clubber.
A Clubber that routinely
disrupts Club meetings may be removed from the Club at the discretion
of the Club Director and/or Commander after parental consultation.
