LTC Norman Waters is the Director of the Life Science Program. He teaches Cell Biology and Microbiology. He is a member of the American Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene, American Association for the Advancement of Science, the Society of Armed Forces Medical laboratory Scientists and the American Chemical Society. His research interests include understanding the cell cycle control mechanisms underlying growth and development of the malaria parasite, Plasmodium falciparum and the identification of novel antimalarial agents.​
