Detection of Toxins

chem_research_toxins01.pngIt has been shown that saxitoxin (STX) can be detected using SERS. However, the exact nature of the adsorption of STX and its derivatives to Ag nanoparticles is unknown. In silicio methods can be used to determine which vibrational modes are enhanced upon adsorption and then more specific sensing mechanisms can be developed.
