Hyperspectral Imaging for the development and evaluation of individual signature management

  • Hyperspectral Imaging (HSI) provides a unique capability for camouflage development and evaluation
  • Used in the evaluation of new camouflage for OEF – OEF Camouflage Pattern (OCP)
  • Modern camouflage must be effective across multiple portions of the electromagnetic spectrum

Effects to address:

  1. Base armor color and pouch color/pattern
  2. Painting of individual weapon (M4)
  3. Evaluation of commercially available weapon paints
  4. Delectability of final products using state of the art optics – Visible, Near Infra-red, and thermal
  5. HSI imagery analysis protocols
