COL Brinkley teaches General Chemistry I and II. He has served in Army Medical Department (AMEDD) operational assignments, as clinical microbiology lab director for Army & Joint Medical Treatment Facilities, the microbiology division chief for the AMEDD Center & School, and as an infectious disease research director. He is a member of the American Society for Microbiologists (ASM), American Medical Technologists (AMT), and the Society for Armed Forces Military Laboratory Scientists (SAFMLS). COL Brinkley's research interests are in the molecular mechanisms of bacterial pathogenesis, microbial surface structure relationships in adherence and invasion, vaccine development and clinical/biodefense diagnostic assay development.
