LTC Lorenz teaches General Chemistry, Biochemistry and Individual Research. He is a Department Individual Advanced Development (Academic) coordinator. He serves as the USMA Rifle (NCAA) Officer Representative and is a USMA Cycling Team and Hunt Club volunteer. His research interests are in human performance and altitude physiology. His graduate research using Near Infrared Spectroscopy to determine cerebral oxygenation in various hypoxic conditions attempted to answer ‘why performance is compromised at altitude’. LTC Lorenz has worked in collaboration with the US Army Institute of Environmental Medicine and is a member of the American College of Sports Medicine.
