Girls Only Mini-STEM Workshop
Our day-long event includes hands-on activities in electronics, chemistry, robotics, materials, design, environmental science, mechanical engineering, physics and more. The girls will attend workshops, and meet women of all ages working with exciting technologies in a wide range of science and engineering careers.
No cost to attend.
Funding issues have resulted in the cancellation of this program for fall 2014. Please check back in January.
This workshop is open to 8th, 9th and 10th grade girls.
Registration is first come first serve and will be open to the first 60 students.
Please DO NOT register until you are certain you can attend.
You must pre-register to attend.
All attendees must download and submit signed consent forms. You can bring this signed form on the day of the event or scan the form and email it to Cathy.Bale@usma.edu
Students will need transportation to and from West Point. Parents should enter West Point through the Highland Falls entrance. You and your child will need a photo ID to enter the Academy Grounds. Student drop-off is at the Grant turn around. Follow Thayer Road and merge left toward the academic buildings. Please drop-off students on the day of the workshop no later than 0845. Registration will begin at 0830 in Mahan Hall.
Students will need to bring a packed lunch or bring money to purchase lunch. Pizza lunch and a beverage will be available for $8.00.
Parent Program and Student Pick-up:
Parents are invited to attend our one hour Parent Program at 1430 in Mahan Hall's Arnold Auditorium. This program will be conducted by faculty members and USMA Admissions representatives. We will address questions about helping your children prepare for college and answer any quesitons you might have about attending USMA.
Parents are invited to stay for our student closing ceremony and certificate presentation in Mahan Hall's Arnold Auditorium at 1530 directly following the Parent Program.
Please park only in designated parking spaces. There is parking available along Thayer Road. Allow at least 10 minutes to walk from your parking location to Mahan Hall.
