The 2013 West Point STEM Workshop, originally scheduled for May 2013, has been cancelled. Because of the ongoing federal budget crisis, all conferences and workshops at West Point have been suspended for the remainder of the year.  We regret any inconvenience this may cause.  We, too, are disappointed that we will not have the opportunity to offer the workshop this year.

 

The status of the STEM Workshop for 2014 is still uncertain.


 
What are the greatest challenges facing the world today?
 
Protecting our environment, responding to climate change, developing new sources of energy, repairing our crumbling infrastructure, providing safe drinking water in the developing world, and enhancing human health through biotechnology: These are just a few examples of important problems that can only be solved through science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). Yet the U.S. is falling behind other countries in developing the STEM talent needed to tackle these challenges. Founded in 2009, the West Point Center for STEM Education (CSE) is responding to this need with programs designed to inspire, attract, and develop STEM talent for America. Our work is integrated with Army and Department of Defense programs that are also dedicated to enhancing STEM education.

Center for STEM Education and the Office of Admissions are excited to bring you STEM at West Point.
 
This unique middle school program offers 6th and 7th grade students the opportunity to participate in hands-on science, technology, engineering and mathematics activities taught by Academy faculty and cadet mentors.
