On 16 March 1802, Thomas Jefferson signed the document

that founded the United States Military Academy it read,

“that the said corps, when so organized,

shall be stationed at west point in the state of New York

and shall constitute a military academy.”

In March of each year, USMA personnel speak at Founders Day gatherings

organized by West Point Societies throughout the United States and the world.

For information on a Society in your area check the Association of Graduates website.

The USMA Leader Team which consists of

the Superintendent, Commandant, Dean, and Athletic Director

are the most requested USMA speakers.

Unfortunately, we cannot support all of the requests.

In order to equitably distribute the USMA Leader Team

we rotate the Commandant, Dean, and Director of Athletics

between three geographic regions in the United States.

The assignments for 2010 are below.

The Superintendent does not have an assigned region and will attend events at large.

Central U.S. Dean

West Coast Director of Athletics

East Coast Commandant

Scheduling of the USMA Leader Team and USMA Staff & Faculty

is the responsibility of the Directorate of Academy Advancement (DAA),

Mr. Vince McDermott.
