THE MISSION
The West Point Aviation Club is dedicated to helping cadets become competent future Army Aviators. Club members may receive ground and flight instruction toward a civilian aviation license while at West Point. Ground school for enrolled members is conducted during weeknight club meetings while cadets may conduct flight training on weekends. Flight instruction is currently available from certified instructors at Stewart International Airport in Newburgh, NY. The West Point Aviation Club provides transportation, access to discounted flight training, Private Pilot Written Test preparation, assistance finding FAA flight surgeons for FAA medical exams, aviation seminars and meetings. Cadets may also compete with the West Point Flying Team, which competes in the National Intercollegiate Flying Association annual competitions. No prior flight experience is required to join.
