On 3 November, Professor Don Garrett, Chair of the Department of Philosophy at New York University, a world-renowned specialist in 17th and 18th Century Philosophy, and the author of (among other books) The Cambridge Companion to Spinoza,, visited Dr. Robert Tully’s section of EP433, Senior Seminar, which is the department’s integrative experience for APL majors. In keeping with the interdisciplinary nature of the course, Prof. Tully’s seminar this fall has examined Spinoza’s major work, Ethics, which has widely influenced the areas of Neuroscience, Psychology, and Religion.
