 This club participates, as a multi-cultural community, in acknowledging, appreciating, and critically engaging the contributions of African Americans (in art, music, fiction and non-fiction writing, poetry, drama, and oral rhetoric), while considering how the experiences and expressions of these artists and writers continue to influence, and are relevant to, contemporary society.
- The African American Arts Forum continued its popular series of Jazz and Poetry Night events. The events are typically held in the Haig Room of Jefferson Hall. Performers and spectators have a chance to discuss their interests in writing and poetry between presentations, and each event also features an 'open mic' portion so that students suddenly inspired to do so may present their writing to the audience.
