Chinese Abroad Program

 
CHINESE AIAD in China
 
Three AIADs take place each summer in China. Cadets participate in an intensive summer language program that includes classes in Chinese language, visits to cultural and historical landmarks, and possibly meetings with senior military and political officials. The Beijing program is organized in cooperation with the U.S. Army Pacific Command and the U.S. Defense Attaché Office, Beijing. Daily activities are evaluated for grade.
 
Academic Credit: 3.0 hours Number of Cadets: 30-40
 
 
CHINESE in Taiwan
 
One AIAD takes place each summer in Taiwan. Cadets participate in an intensive summer language program that includes classes in Chinese language and culture, visits to military academies and meetings with senior military and political officials. The Taiwan program is arranged through the Taiwan Military Academy, American Institute of Taiwan, and Fujen University. Daily activities are evaluated for grade.
 
Academic Credit: 3.0 hours Number of Cadets: 10-15
 
 
Chinese during Semester Abroad in China and Taiwan
 
Each semester, 15 select cadets attend intensive language classes at Jilin University in Changchun, China; Peking University in Beijing, China or Fu Jen University in Taipei, Taiwan as part of a Semester Abroad Program.
 
Chinese during Spring Break Language and Cultural Immersion
 
Up to 10 cadets annually visit China in order to experience cultural immersion and language first hand, along with seeing culturally significant sites.
