New DEC Green Living web link
The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) has a new site, which provides a variety of ways for you to live in an environmentally friendly fashion. One idea is to refeul your car with gas at night to reduce ozone pollution. It also contains an interesting section called Myth Busters designed to eliminate common environmental misconceptions. External Environmental Performance Assessment System (EPAS) inspection 14-18 July 2008
West Point was recently notified that the Northeast Region Installation Management Agency will be conducting an EPAS inspection this summer. The inspection will focus on wastewater, water quality, waste munitions, and Environmental Management Systems.


Environmental Protection Agency Inspection
West Point was recently notified by the Environmental Protection Agency that they will be inspecting West Point's petroleum storage and spill response programs in 2008. Additional information about the EPAS and EPA inspections will be distributed thru the Environmental Quality Control Committee (EQCC), Environmental Officers, and this web site.


Thanks to everyone who participated in this year's Earth Day celebration at the recycling center. As part of the days events awards were presented to students for their earth day poster designs. Congratulations to the following poster contest winners:
