Team Selection
Combat Weapons Team (CWT) selection is held at the beginning of each academic year. The selection process changes every year, but in past years it has included unspecified length ruck runs, a silent APFT, timed obstacle courses, team events, pull ups, formation runs, and other physically and mentally taxing events. After the physical portion of the tryouts candidates must undergo the psychological evaluation and screening process which includes an interview and an intensive review by a board of team members. Professionalism is of utmost importance during the selection process. Candidates are not harassed or motivated in any way, but their performance, teamwork and attitude are evaluated throughout the selection process. The CWT selection staff modifies the selection process annually, and ultimately selection of personnel is subject to the staff’s discretion.
