1) Training Requirements:
a) Prior to establishing an account, all prospective cardholders (CH), billing officials (BO), and alternate/billing officials (A/BO) must receive training and orientation covering the GPC program. Training is provided through Defense Acquisition University (DAU), West Point Directorate of Contracting (DOC), and the West Point SJA.
b) Initial training consists of West Point DOC, DAU, and ethics. Instructions are provided below. Individuals new to the GPC program and/or new to West Point, must complete all three prior to appointment.
2) DAU Training: It is recommended that GPC officials complete the DAU on-line continuous learning module, “DOD Government Purchase Card” prior to attending the West Point DOC training. Instructions for enrolling are below.
3) West Point DOC Training: To enroll, send the A/OPC an email with the name of the individual(s) and the desired attendance date.
4) Ethics Training (initial and refresher): All GPC CH, BO, and A/BOs shall receive annual ethics training from the SJA ethics counselor or they shall complete the DAU continuous learning module "Ethics Training for AT&L Workforce - CLM 003". Failure to attend may be grounds for suspension of the account. Contact the SJA ethics counselor, x8570, for training schedule.
5) Refresher training for Mission and IMCOM CHs and BOs is required annually. Refresher training for NAF CHs and BOs is required every two (2) years. Failure to complete GPC refresher training may be grounds for suspension of the account. This requirement may be fulfilled in one of two ways: 1) attend GPC training given by the Agency/Organization Program Coordinator (A/OPC) or 2) complete the refresher training on-line through DAU (make sure you print your certificate and put in your files).
