Colonel Daniels was assigned to the Department of Physical Education at the United States Military Academy where he served as an Instructor, Testing Officer, and Coordinator of Competitive Club Sports.
Colonel Daniels returned to West Point to serve as the Deputy Director of the Department of Physical Education. He assumed his duties as Department Head on April 23, 2004.
Colonel Daniels' awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal with three oak leaf clusters, the Army Commendation Medal with one oak leaf cluster, the Army Achievement Medal with four oak leaf clusters, the Ranger Tab, the Parachutist Badge, and the Air Assault Badge.
Colonel Greg Daniels graduated from the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing Management, and was commissioned as a Distinguished Military Graduate from its Army ROTC program in 1984. He earned a Master of Science Degree in Exercise and Sport Science from the Pennsylvania State University in 1994 and a Doctor of Philosophy Degree in Kinesiology from the same institution in 2002.
