Dr. East has been teaching in higher education since August, 1979. He has taught at three universities: U. of Northern Iowa, East Tennessee State U., and the United States Military Academy. He was promoted to the rank of professor of discipline in May 1992. From 1986 to 2000 Dr. East served as the Chair – Department of Physical Education, Exercise and Sport Sciences at ETSU.
