Dr. Fielitz earned his Bachelor of Science (1983) from George Williams College, Downers Grove, IL. He completed his Master of Science (1984) from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Most recently, he has completed a Management Information Systems (1997) degree from Virginia Commonwealth University and his Ph.D. in Sports Administration from the University of New Mexico. Dr. Fielitz has been on the USMA faculty since 1995. He has served as the head women's volleyball coach, the information management office within the Department of Physical Education and currently serves as the Associate Director of Instruction. Prior to his arrival at the USMA, Dr. Fielitz was the head women's volleyball coach/assistant professor at Virginia Commonwealth University, Richmond, VA. In addition, he is the course director for volleyball and teaches military movement, scuba, alpine skiing and personal fitness. Dr. Fielitz has published and presented numerous articles nationally. His research interest is in athletic recruiting. He is also a peer reviewer for Strategies magazine.
