MAJ Fleming initially enlisted in 1993 as a Signal Support Systems Specialist in the Minnesota Army National Guard. He commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in 1999 through ROTC as an Aviation Officer. His military assignments include Aeroscout Platoon Leader, B Troop, 6/6 Cavalry Regiment, Ft. Hood, TX; Executive Officer, HHC, 11th Attack Helicopter Regiment, Illesheim, Germany; Squadron Assistant S3, 6/6 Cavalry Regiment, Illesheim, Germany; Brigade S3 Air, 1st Air Cavalry Brigade, Ft. Hood, TX; Company Commander, HHC and A Company, 1st Attack/Reconnaissance Battalion, 1st Cavalry Division, Ft. Hood, TX. He is a graduate of the Joint Firepower Controller Course, the Engineer Captains Career Course, AH-64D supplemental course, the AH-64A Apache Advance Qualification Course, Initial Entry Rotary Wing Course, Aviation Officer Basic Course, and Airborne School. He has deployed with the 11th Attack Helicopter Regiment in support of OIF I and with the 1st Cavalry Division in support of OIF 06-08. MAJ Fleming's academic interests include software engineering and robotics.
