CPT Jacob Shaha graduated from the University of Utah in December, 2006, and received his commission as a Signal Officer. Following branch training, he reported as the Battalion S-6 for 1st Battalion, 187th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team (RAKKASANS), 101st Airborne Division at Fort Campbell, Kentucky. He served as 1-187IN's S-6 for four years, including two combat deployments: one to Baghdad, Iraq, 2007-2008, and a second to Paktika, Afghanistan, in 2010. Following the Signal Captain's Career Course, CPT Shaha moved to Fort Carson, Colorado, where he first commanded the Garrison Headquarters & Headquarters Company, and subsequently commanded B Company (Signal), 2nd Special Troops Battalion, 2nd Brigade Combat Team (Heavy), 4th Infantry Division. In 2013, he deployed with the Company to Kuwait as part of a regional response force deployment. Having completed graduate studies at the University of Michigan, CPT Shaha currently serves as an Instructor in the Electrical Engineering and Computer Science department of the United States Military Academy at West Point.
