CPT Rykowski enlisted in the Army Reserves as a Firefighter in 1996. He was then commissioned as a Engineer Officer in 2004 and then designated as a Telecommunications System Engineer (FA24) in 2008. His previous assignments include team leader, 592nd Ordnance Company and light equipment Platoon Leader and Executive Officer for Bravo Company, 37th Engineer Batallion (Combat)(Airborne). He is a graduate of the Air Assault School, Airborne School, Jumpmaster School, Pathfinder School, Engineer Officer Basic Course, Telecommunications Systems Engineering Course, Signal Captain's Career Course, and the Joint Network Attack Course. CPT Rykowski has deployed to Bosnia in support of Operation Joint Guard and Afghanistan, in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
