LTC Fischer was commissioned as a Transportation Corps officer in 1989 and was assessed into the Acquisition Corps in 1999. His Transportation Corps assignments include Platoon Leader in the 123rd Main Support Battalion, 1st Armored Division; Platoon Leader, Assistant Battalion Supply Officer, and Battalion Maintenance Officer in the 703rd Main Support Battalion, 3rd Infantry Division; Battalion Motor/Rail Officer, Battalion S3 (operations and training), and Company Commander in the 561st Corps Support Battalion, 101st Corps Support Group; and Transportation Officer and Brigade Adjutant in the 101st Corps Support Group. His Acquisition Corps assignments include Technology Development Officer at the Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff for Intelligence; Assistant Project Manager for Navigation Systems; Assistant Product Manager for Meteorological Sensors; and Liaison for PEO IEW&S in Iraq. He is a graduate of the Command and General Staff College, the Combined Logistics Officer Advanced Course, the Transportation Officer Basic Course, Airborne School, and Air Assault School. His academic interests include computer networking and fault localization.
