MAJ Waugh’s previous military assignments include Communications Platoon Leader and Battalion Signal Officer, 1/15 FA, Camp Casey, Korea; Signal Company Executive Officer, E Company, 447th Signal Battalion, Fort Gordon, GA; Signal Platoon Leader, 235th Signal Company, 67th Signal Battalion, Fort Gordon, GA; Task Force Signal Officer, TF Aurora, Flores Guatemala; Commander, HQ Detachment and 287th Signal Company, 78th Signal Battalion, Camp Zama, Japan; Battalion Assistant Operations Officer, 78th Signal Battalion, Camp Zama, Japan. MAJ Waugh has deployed in support of Operation New Horizon 2001 in Flores, Guatemala. During his tenure at Camp Zama, Japan, MAJ Waugh implemented a lifecycle program across U.S. Army, Japan to establish a link between MTOE/TDA automation requirements, track whether all requirements were filled with modern equipment and using bulk purchases from Dell to obtain the best automation possible for the least cost. MAJ Waugh’s research interests include human-computer interaction, virtual reality, wireless sensor networks, and computer graphics.
