MAJ Tate was commissioned as a Military Intelligence Officer from the United States Military Academy in 2003. His assignments include Brigade Intelligence Officer in Charge (101st Sustainment Brigade), Battalion Intelligence Officer in Charge (326th Combat Engineer Battalion), Analysis and Control Team Officer in Charge and Assistant Brigade Intelligence Officer (4th Brigade, 3rd Infantry Division), and Assistant Intelligence Officer (3rd Battalion, 7th Infantry). MAJ Tate has deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (2005-2006 and 2007-2009). He is a graduate of the Military Intelligence Officer Basic and Captain Career Courses and the Air Assault School. MAJ Tate earned his Master of Science in Computer Science with thesis, Supplemental Authentication via Internet Fingerprinting, from Duke University in 2011. His academic interests include intelligence and computer systems and networks, and computer and network security.
