LTC Nowatkowski is a Signal Officer who joined EECS in 2010. His previous assignments include Platoon Leader and Company Executive Officer with the 501st Signal Battalion (Air Assault), 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault); Division Automation Management Officer, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault); Network Engineer, 35th Signal Brigade (Airborne), XVIII Airborne Corps; Commander, C Company, 50th Signal Battalion (Forced Entry)(Airborne); Assistant Professor in the Department of Systems Engineering, United States Military Academy; Group Signal Officer, 7th Special Forces Group (Airborne); Signal Officer for the Combined Joint Special Operations Task Force - Afghanistan; Battalion S3 and Battalion Executive Officer for the 112th Signal Battalion (Special Operations)(Airborne). He is a graduate of the Signal Officer Basic and Advanced Courses, the Teleprocessing Operations Officer Course, Combined Arms and Services Staff School, Command and General Staff College, Space Orientation/Operations Course, Air Assault School, Airborne School, and the Jumpmaster Course. His academic interests include network security, communication networks, vehicular ad hoc networks, and discrete-event simulation.
