Dr. Johnson is a Geologist who applies the skills and techniques of physical chemistry to understanding geological processes. Her specific research interests include understanding fluid behavior at high pressures and temperatures inside the Earth, deducing physical conditions inside a volcano just prior to eruption, and environmental security. She is the author of many articles in professional journals, and often presents papers at national conferences. Dr. Johnson is a Professor of Geology and serves as the Environmental Program Director. She is the course director for EV388a (Physical Geology) and EV487 (Environmental Security).
