CPT Mike Mobbs was born in Washington, D.C. and enlisted in the United States Army in 2002.  After serving as a riflemen in the 1st Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment, deploying both to Afghanistan and Iraq (OPERATION ENDURING FREEDOM, 2002, and OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM 1, 2003).  Following these deployments he accepted an appointment to the United States Military Academy where he graduated in 2007.  His following assignment was as a platoon leader and executive officer in the 159th Pathfinder Co (Airborne), Fort Campbell, KY where he deployed to Afghanistan (OPERATION ENDURING FREEDOM, 2009).  He commanded C Trp, 1st BDE, 82nd, Fort Bragg, NC before assuming command of A Co, 2nd Battalion, 504th PIR, forward deployed in Afghanistan (OPERATION ENDURING FREEDOM, 2014).  Following company command he entered graduate school at the University of Pennsylvania where he earned an MA in History.  He is married and the father of two children.
