Michael Geheran is a historian of modern Germany specializing in World War I, the Holocaust, and German-Jewish relations during the Nazi period.  Originally from Frankfurt am Main, Germany, he is a graduate of Norwich University, Harvard University, and Clark University, where he earned his Ph.D.  His dissertation, Betrayed Comradeship: German-Jewish World War I Veterans under Hitler, examined the experiences of Jewish former soldiers in Nazi Germany.  He is currently working on a book based on his dissertation.  He has published articles in Central European History and Psychology & Society, and is co-editing a collected volume on Central European Jewry and the First World War, scheduled to appear in 2018.  Before joining the History Department at West Point, Dr. Geheran taught at Boston University and served as Academic Program Manager at the Strassler Center for Holocaust and Genocide Studies at Clark.
