Department of Law : Mock Trial Club

Mock Trial
 
The Mock Trial Club competes against undergraduates from around the country. Mock trial is a competition of trial advocacy in which teams must present a simulated case before a panel of judges. Cadets compete as both lawyers and witnesses and are scored for their presentation and speaking skills.

The 2013-2014 USMA Mock Trial Club at the 7th Annual Guardian Mock Trial Tournament, October 25-27, at the United States Coast Guard Academy. 
The Club competed against 19 other schools from around the country.

The Mock Trial team traveled to Yale University in February, 2014, to participate in the American Mock Trial Association's REgional Trounament. The cadets competed in four rounds, twice as the prosecution team and twice as the defense team.  USMA finished with a record of 2-2, resulting in a tenth place finish out of 24 teams.  Cadet Kiam Boerema was one of 12 students honored as an Outstanding Attorney for his role as a prosecutor.
