The Special Collections and Archives Division will occupy specially designed collection space on the fourth floor of Bartlett Hall North beginning in summer 2013. The new stack areas in Bartlett Hall North will allow all Special Collections and Archives materials to reside in the Central Area for the first time since 1989, benefitting all researchers. Patrons will not have access to the Bartlett Hall space, which will be used only as "on call" stacks, through the end of the Bartlett Hall renovation (tentatively January 2016). Reader space for Special Collections and Archives patrons will remain in Jefferson Hall 314 until the Bartlett Hall renovation is completed.

The USMA Library has maintained auxiliary collection space in an annex in building 2107, Pershing Center, since 1989. The annex space is located in the same building as the Visitors Center. With a comprehensive re-design of the Visitors Center planned in the near term, the library will temporarily vacate the annex in summer 2013. The library stack areas will be preserved in the renovation project and re-occupied when the project is complete.
