Department Activities

The Math Department provides several opportunities for faculty development and participates in several national Mathematical organizations. These opportunities serve to encourage innovation, creativity and collegiality among the Math Department staff and faculty. The Math Department faculty represents diverse backgrounds, including civilian faculty members as well as rotating and senior military personnel. The Math Department sponsors a chapter of Pi Mu Epsilon, as well as organizing and hosting on-line an international Problem of the Week competition. The Math Department also hosts several Seminars throughout the semester, bringing in guest speakers to talk about a myriad of subjects.  The Math Department also awards fellowships to active duty military officers who are actively engaged in the study of mathematics via the Omar N.
