Public Affairs : Garrison Change of Command Ceremony

WEST POINT, N.Y. – Colonel Michael J. Tarsa will pass the command of the U.S. Army Garrison, West Point, to Col. Dane D. Rideout at a change of command ceremony on Tuesday, July 10, beginning at 10 a.m., at the Trophy Point Amphitheater. The public is invited to attend.

Simultaneously during the ceremony there will be a change of responsibility from Command Sgt. Maj. Jose M. Powell to Command Sgt. Maj. Kevin Fauntleroy.

Major Gen. Rueben D. Jones, deputy commanding general, Installation Management Command, will officiate the ceremony in which the West Point Band and color guard will participate. In the event of inclement weather, the ceremony will take place in Crest Hall located in Eisenhower Hall.

Rideout is a 1990 graduate of Ball State University and most recently served as the G-1 for the U. S. Special Operations Command.

Following his tour as West Point Garrison Commander, Tarsa will assume his new duties in the Office of the Chief of Staff of the Army, Washington, D.C. ​​
