West Point Model UN competes in Australia

WEST POINT, N.Y. (March 28, 2013) -- The West Point Model United Nations team traveled March 15-24 to Melbourne, Australia, to compete in the World Model United Nations tournament.

While there, five of the seven cadets competing won individual diplomacy awards. This marked the end of another successful year for the Model UN team and a great opportunity for the cadets to travel and gain more global experience.

At the World competition, Diplomacy awards are given in lieu of the traditional top three awards. Diplomacy awards are given to the participants who contribute the most constructively to debate and are the most effective at defending the merits of their argument.

The following cadets won Diplomacy awards last week: Class of 2013 Cadets Will Dickson, Ben Ketchum and Colleen Harrison; Class of 2014 Cadet Warren Geary and Class of 2015 Cadet Megan McNulty. Class of 2013 Cadet Ross Boston and Class of 2013 Cadet Tommy Daniel were also instrumental in the Model UN team’s success last week.
