Orienteering Team competes at Intercollegiate Championships

WEST POINT, N.Y. (March 20, 2013) –Select members of the West Point Orienteering Team traveled to Shawnee, Kan., near Kansas City, for the U.S. Intercollegiate Championships, March 9-10, and secured their 11th consecutive and 35th Intercollegiate national title.

Racing on unfamiliar and relatively open terrain in cold conditions the West Point orienteering team, nonetheless, swept the men’s varsity category, with Class of 2013 Cadet Nolan Miles (Company D-2) placing first, Class of 2014 Cadet Zach Schroeder (Co. A-2) second, and Class of 2013 Cadet Andrew Eck (Co. F-1) third by only one second.

Cadet Judelyn Farrow (2015, G4) placed third in the women’s varsity category. Newcomer to the team, Class of 2016 Cadet Patrick Richardson (Co. H-1) navigated to an impressive race in the Junior Category
