WEST POINT, N.Y. (March 28, 2013) — The Week 6 results are in and the Corps of Cadets has improved its standing among the hundreds of schools competing in the national Recyclemania tournament.

The U.S. Military Academy advanced a spot in the Paper category, now ranked 11th among the 246 schools participating and has taken the lead in the Corrugated Cardboard category. In the Bottles and Cans category, the cadets leaped nine spots ahead to rank 11th out of 244 competing schools. The Corps of Cadets remained in sixth place for a second week in the Per Capita Classic category.

In the Gorilla category, the Corps placed 63rd out of 346 participating schools. Overall, the U.S. Military Academy is ranked 232nd out of 263 schools for the Grand Champion with two weeks remaining in the tournament.

Recyclemania is a friendly competition to promote the recycling programs at colleges and universities in the U.S. and Canada, while promoting recycling waste reduction activities to their campus communities.
