MAJ Benjamin Hung
is a FA49 Operations Research/Systems Analyst currently teaching mathematics at the United States Military Academy at West Point. He previously served as a military police officer in the 10th Mountain Division with 24 months of counterinsurgency experience in Afghanistan. During his last tour, he was the maneuver company commander responsible for the security of Logar Province and the development of its Afghan National Police. He received his Bachelors of Science in Mathematics from the United States Military Academy in 2001 and a Master of Science in Operations Research from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2010. His research interests include modeling Afghan village social networks and using network science to improve inform and influence activities (IIA) in Army operations.
