Elizabeth (Frinak) Mentis, Ph.D.
is currently serving as a Research Scientist under the direction of Dr. J. Kenneth Wickiser in the Network Science Center at West Point. Dr. Mentis received a B.S. in Chemistry from Appalachian State University and a Ph.D. in Analytical/Atmospheric Chemistry from the University of Colorado, Boulder. Previously, Dr. Mentis served as a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Chemistry Department at the University of Toronto and a Research Scientist at the Climate Change Research Center at the University of New Hampshire. After teaching General Chemistry in the USMA Dept. of Chemistry and Life Science, Dr. Mentis is now employing her background in analytical chemistry to characterize the influence of environmental contaminants such as RDX on biological networks in bacteria.
