Jean Blair, Ph.D.
serves a Professor of Computer Science in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at West Point. Dr. Blair received a B.S. in Economics and a B.S. in Computer Science from Allegheny College, as well as a M.S. and Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Pittsburg. Previously, Dr. Blair served as a professor at the University of Tennessee and Research Scientist at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory. During both the 2001-2002 and 2009-2010 academic years she went on sabbatical to the University of Bergen, Norway. She has on-going research projects in the areas of graph algorithms, self-stabilizing algorithms, and algorithms for digital image halftoning. Dr. Blair was the Computer Science program director from 2003-2009, is a past chair of the Mid-Hudson Section of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), a Senior Member of the IEEE, and a senior member of the ACM. Dr. Blair is currently working on the Network Structure and Algorithms through the Network Science Center at West Point.
