LTC Michael Nowatkowski, Ph.D.
is a Signal Officer who joined the Network Science Center in 2010. His previous assignments include Platoon Leader and Company Executive Officer with the 501st Signal Battalion (Air Assault), 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault); Division Automation Management Officer, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault); Network Engineer, 35th Signal Brigade (Airborne), XVIII Airborne Corps; Commander, C Company, 50th Signal Battalion (Forced Entry)(Airborne); Assistant Professor in the Department of Systems Engineering, United States Military Academy; Group Signal Officer, 7th Special Forces Group (Airborne); Signal Officer for the Combined Joint Special Operations Task Force - Afghanistan; Battalion S3 and Battalion Executive Officer for the 112th Signal Battalion (Special Operations)(Airborne). He is a graduate of the Signal Officer Basic and Advanced Courses, the Teleprocessing Operations Officer Course, Combined Arms and Services Staff School, Command and General Staff College, Space Orientation/Operations Course, Air Assault School, Airborne School, and the Jumpmaster Course. His academic interests include network security, communication networks, vehicular ad hoc networks, and discrete-event simulation.
