MAJ Nick Howard
graduated with honors from West Point in 2002 with a bachelors degree in Operations Research. He was commissioned into the infantry and served with 2nd BDE, 1st Armored Division in Germany. While with them Nick deployed to twice Iraq in 2003-2004 and then again in 2006, serving as a PLT LDR in and around Baghdad. Nick was subsequently assigned to 4th BDE 101st ABN at Ft. Campbell KY and deployed as a company commander to Khowst province, Afghanistan in 2008. After returning from Afghanistan Nick earned a Master's degree in Operations Research at MIT while also serving as a Draper Fellow. He is now assigned to the West Point math department and teaches calculus and probability classes to Cadets. Research interests include graph theory, stochastic processes, and diffusion processes in networks.
