Robert C. Rasmussen
is a graduate student beginning his second year pursuing a M.A. in International Relations with a C.A.S. in Security Studies at Syracuse University’s Maxwell School of Citizenship & Public Affairs. Robert earned his B.A. in International Relations and Geography with a minor in Asian Studies. He is an Army Brat by origin moving from post to post until his family settled just outside of West Point, where his father retired. After completing his studies at Syracuse, Robert plans to join the Intelligence Community, the Foreign Service, or to pursue a Ph.D. in Geography, International Relations, or Political Science. His research interests focus around the Indian Ocean Rim, the rise of China and India, political geography, geopolitics, military geography, national security, and foreign policy. Robert is an Eagle Scout and volunteers as an adult leader with scouting at both West Point and Syracuse. He is also a soldier in the New York Guard, a state militia serving as a reserve to the New York National Guard.
