Registering Your Weapons and
Firearms at West Point
You must register your weapons with the PMO
if you live in government quarters on post, or you are transporting a
weapon onto the West Point Military Reservation for any reason.
Report to the PMO Customer Service
window (click here for hours) after printing and filling out these
weapons cards:
- USMA Form 2-177-1
- USMA Form 2-177-2
You will need a military ID card, Drivers License, Car Insurance and
registration for processing.
You will also need proof of ownership and serial numbers for each
weapon you are registering. DO NOT BRING WEAPONS TO THE MP STATION. As
a weapon owner, you are responsible for the proper registration of the
weapon on this post, as well as with local and state authorities. (Proof
of Ownership may be written as either a letter or memorandum). All
privately owned weapons must be registered with the State of New York as
well as West Point.
